Rochester, NY – April 30, 2004 – Imaging Solutions Group of New York, Inc.(ISG) announced today its Alliance Partnership with National Instruments (NI). The National Instruments Alliance Program is a worldwide network of more than 600 consultants, system integrators, developers, channel partners, and industry experts who partner with NI to provide complete, high-quality virtual instrumentation solutions to customers.
ISG as an Alliance Product Partner works closely with NI, its vision system integrators and developers to optimize customer vision applications. ISG has many positive customer references for machine vision projects where National Instruments products were used with ISG cameras. All the ISG LightWise cameras have been fully tested and approved by National Instruments for compliance and compatibility with NI software and hardware.
ISG designs and manufactures compact, high performance cameras for a variety of applications, including security, machine vision, defense and surveillance/reconnaissance. The ISG LightWise cameras, like all ISG cameras, support the industry standard IEEE-1394 IIDC DCAM Specification version 1.3. The cameras have been tested and verified to work with industry leading software such as National Instruments software and hardware.
“ISG’s Alliance with NI is helping our customers solve complex imaging problems in a cost effective and quick manner,” said Kerry Van Iseghem, one of the founders of the Imaging Solutions Group. “This Alliance Partnership has proven very popular and customer interest is very strong and loyal. The strongest interest is in the food and beverage industry, sorting applications and industrial automation.”
National Instruments IMAQ software products offer benefits for a breadth of machine vision applications. NI IMAQ Vision Builder and NI IMAQ Vision deliver a reduced development cycle, saving time and money. NI OCR Software is an add-on package designed to meet the needs of machine vision application developers who need to reduce cost and deliver products quickly. NI IMAQ software products are interactive and configurable. Users can choose from more than 200 functions callable from LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, C, C++, and Visual Basic. The software is easily integrated with NI data acquisition and motion control products.
ISG LightWise cameras fit into this environment flawlessly and offer customers many benefits. ISG LightWise cameras interface to the NI software and hardware through the “NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394” driver software for FireWire cameras.
NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394 offers a mobile, easy-to-use solution for acquiring images from ISG LightWise FireWire cameras. The driver software integrates with NI Measurement & Automation Explorer, so users can easily configure their ISG LightWise FireWire cameras. USers can also quickly set up the system by connecting an ISG LightWise FireWire camera to a computer and immediately begin acquiring images. With a set of easy-to-use programs, users can quickly create applications in LabVIEW or Measurement Studio by creating VIs or directly accessing the C library functions.
ISG LightWise FireWire cameras have been tested with the NI Compact Vision Systems. The NI CVS-145x rugged systems using ISG LightWise FireWire cameras run LabVIEW in real time. This embedded high-performance processor unit increases inspection speed and vision applications. It has three FireWire camera inputs that can run three independent ISG LightWise cameras. This CVS system integrates with NI Compact FieldPoint and other devices through Ethernet, serial, and digital I/O.
ISG and NI have many customers using these vision systems to quickly and efficiently solve machine vision problems.
