Rochester, NY – April 4, 2005 – Imaging Solutions Group (ISG) introduces its latest LightWise cameras for spectroscopy, featuring ease of use and high performance at prices below current industry norms. The cameras can sample at rates of 10,000 samples per second with full bit-depth over the IEEE-1394 FireWire bandwidth.
“The spectroscopy market needs solutions that are low-cost and easy to use,” says Kerry Van Iseghem, co-founder of ISG. “While more elaborate spectroscopy systems exist, they are primarily much higher cost. University and scientific agencies have limited budgets and these cameras fit their requirements.”
The LW-ELIS-1024a-1394 (14-bit) spectroscopy camera has rectangular pixels optimized for spectroscopy, while the LW-ELIS-1024a-1394 (14-bit) spectroscopy camera is optimized for sample rate speed and resolution.
The cameras can sample at rates of 10,000 samples per second with full bit-depth over the IEEE-1394 FireWire bandwidth. This makes for an easy-to-use, high-performance spectroscopy solution at a low cost.
“These cameras are the only FireWire IEEE-1394-based line scan cameras on the market,” Van Iseghem said.
The low-cost IEEE-1394 IIDC DCAM Specification Version 1.3 compliant cameras do not need expensive frame grabbers or other hardware to operate.
